A huge thank you to all those who made our Spring Forward … Think Back: Horsing Around, Rhode Island’s Horse Racing Heyday such a success.
On a beautiful evening last week, “Horsing Around” brought hundreds out to the Aldrich House to enjoy exhibits, games, food and drinks, and much more, with proceeds benefiting the RIHS’s mission of educational outreach, collections care, and public programs. We have so many to thank for making it such a success!
We’d first like to thank our lead sponsor, Amica Insurance, without whom the evening would not have been possible. Of course all of our corporate sponsors, such as Bank of America, Partridge Snow & Hahn LLP, Brewster Thornton Group Architects LLP, Esten & Richard Insurance, Mandel & Tracy LLC, and BankNewport, demonstrated their profound generosity every step of the way.
Pranzi Catering & Events, our event partner, went above and beyond to curate an evening that radiated sophistication. From set up to clean up, Pranzi set the standard.
Perhaps the most delectable spread of cuisine we’ve had yet, our caterers each contributed a unique dish that was not only exquisite for the palate but also kept with the theme. A round of applause to the culinary genius of B & M Catering Company, The Catering Gourmet, Cozy Caterers, Fire Works Catering, Pranzi Catering, Tom’s Market Catering, and Sin! And who could forget the delicious libations courtesy of Del’s, Gasbarro’s Wines, and Narragansett Beer!
Our trustee sponsors not only are community leaders in their own right, but also affirmed their belief in our mission their support. To leaders such as Michael & Jennifer Baker, Winifred Brownell, Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Burditt, Andy & Polly Erickson, George & Betsey Goodwin, Barry & Kathleen Hittner, Maureen & Tom Moakley, Bob & Cathi Sloan, Kathy & Luther Spoehr– thank you! The same goes for our dedicated individual sponsors- Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Calandrelli, as well as Andrew West & Sylvia Brown West.
It takes a village to put together an evening with so many moving parts, and we owe it to our amazing team of Anne Conway, Ed Desjarlais, Michael Eadie, Heather Evans, Charmyne Goodfellow, Morgan Grefe, Edward Iannuccilli, Lauren Jordan, Renata Luongo, Lisa Mattiello, Silvia Rees, Benjamin Smith, Luther Spoehr, and Sarah Travers.
We felt lucky to have been joined by the Brown Swing Dancers, Judith Potter Photography, Paws and Sox, our trumpeter Ritchee Price, and of course real horses courtesy of Providence’s Mounted Command.
We’re already planning next year’s event! Less jockular and more in the realm of glitz and glam, get ready to shine a spotlight on a Spring Forward that celebrates Rhode Island’s Performing Arts History! See you all then!
